JUSTINA ZUBAITĖ-BUNDZĖ
Residency programme curator 

Justina Zubaitė-Bundzė is an art historian and curator of literary and publishing projects. From 2014 to 2019 and again from 2021 to 2025, she worked as a Reading Room Curator at the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC), Vilnius, where she developed and presented dozens of public programmes with professionals from the fields of art, literature, and publishing. In 2011, together with friends and family, she founded Six Chairs Books, Lithuania’s first contemporary art bookshop. In 2018, Six Chairs Books published its first book and has since continued publishing one book a year. From 2019 to 2022 and again in 2024, Zubaitė-Bundzė curated the events programme of the Kaunas Art Book Fair. She is also a member of the curatorial team of the literary festival Paviljonas Book Weekend in Vilnius. 

The April residency programme was dreamt up by: 

DANUTĖ GAMBICKAITĖ – art critic and researcher, cultural manager and curator, with extensive experience developing exhibitions, public programmes, screenings, and residency programmes. Her writing on contemporary art has been published in cultural magazines, including Dailė, 7 meno dienos, artnews.lt, echogonewrong.com, among others, as well as in exhibition catalogues and other publications. In recent years, Gambickaitė’s practice has focused increasingly on cultural management and curating. She has also edited several books, most recently Choreography: Art Writing in Contemporary Art Criticism, whichexamines the concept of art writing and its growth within the context of contemporary art in Lithuania. Since the beginning of her career, she has actively pursued collective writing and curatorial practices. She is currently one of the initiators and leaders of the cultural complex SODAS 2123and, since 2023, has served as a chief editor and director of Artnews.lt

VITALIJA JASAITĖ – is a co-founder, curator and producer of the art space Editorial in Vilnius, and editor of Echo Gone Wrong, an online magazine dedicated to contemporary art in the Baltics. Jasaitė studied philosophy and social sciences at Šiauliai University and art theory at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. She worked previously as a producer at the cultural complex SODAS 2123, was deputy director at Rupert, and was project manager and director at Galerija Vartai. With over 15 years of experience in the field, she has collaborated extensively with artists, curators, and others, initiating and delivering a wide range of art and cultural projects.
